Off-white sandy beaches alternate with the ever-changing cliffs of rocks. Within a few kilometers, the landscape changes from pristine wilderness areas to cultivated plains around small towns. Wetlands close to the sandy shores characterize this region where human activities have always coexisted with the extraordinary natural environment. Small historic villages on the coast have grown with the advent of tourism, but locals have not abandoned their traditional activities: farming, fishing. animal husbandry and
