The economy is based on agriculture, marble mining, and, above all, accommodation and tourism services. At every beach the urge to dive will be overwhelming. As at <strong>Cala Liberotto<\/strong>, 11 kilometers from the center, an emerald bay beloved by surfers and diving enthusiasts and characterized by delightful little beaches with emerald sea, such as <em>sas Linnas Siccas<\/em> and <em>sa Curcurica<\/em>. Behind it emerges the pond of <strong><em>sos Alinos<\/em><\/strong>, habitat of resident and migratory birds. Not far away is <strong>Cala Ginepro<\/strong>, with soft sand mixed with smooth pebbles. Close to the town is the <strong>Marina<\/strong> <strong>di Orosei<\/strong>, a beautiful five-kilometer stretch of beach with enchanting stretches such as <strong><em>su Barone<\/em><\/strong>. Other jewels to the south are the wide, long beach <em>on Petrosu<\/em> and <strong>Cala<\/strong> <strong>di<\/strong> <strong>Osalla<\/strong>, a golden expanse surrounded by greenery halfway to <strong>Dorgali<\/strong>, known for seabeds ideal for diving. While, to the north, there is <em>Fuile &#8216;e Mare<\/em>, protected by pine forests; <em>Mattanosa<\/em>, with pinkish-white sand; and the<strong> <em>Bidderosa<\/em> oasis<\/strong>, a natural paradise with few comparisons: five coves of fine white sand overlooking the emerald sea. Behind eucalyptus, junipers and Mediterranean essences.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7eaf5aa e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"7eaf5aa\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5b56e5b2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5b56e5b2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-sm-9\"><div class=\"field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden\"><div class=\"field-items\"><div class=\"field-item even item-1 first last\"><p>Orosei&#8217;s historic center is dotted with churches-17 consecrated ones-including the Baroque parish church of St. James, celebrated on July 25, the <strong>Church of the Souls<\/strong>, with an 18th-century wooden pulpit, and the Church of St. Anthony, with frescoes from the 1400s, next to which the <strong>fires of St. Anthony the Abbot<\/strong> are lit on January 16. A tower dedicated to the saint also stands, a legacy from when <em>Uris\u00e8<\/em> was the main center of his curia. The earliest settlement is Roman<em>(Fanum Orisi<\/em>), from the 2nd century A.D. While the most significant prehistoric remains are <strong>nuraghe <em>Rampinu<\/em><\/strong> and village of <em>sa Linnarta<\/em>. Don&#8217;t miss <strong><em>sa Prejone vetza<\/em><\/strong> (the old Spanish prison) and the <strong>Don Nanni Guiso museum<\/strong> that collects miniature theaters from all over Europe, housed in the <em>Palatzos Vetzos<\/em>, where a portrait of Alberto Moravia by Pier Paolo Pasolini is also housed. The festivals have deep roots, particularly the <strong>rites of Holy Week<\/strong>: <em>sos Sepurcros<\/em>, <em>via crucis<\/em>, and <em>s&#8217;Incontru<\/em> on Easter Day. In May, St. Isidore and St. Maria <em>&#8216;e Mare<\/em> are celebrated with characteristic processions.
